I envision a DeRidder that once again has a bustling economy full of opportunity for our local graduates to find meaningful "Family Supporting" careers.  I want DeRidder to be the place where people want to spend the weekends shopping and tell their friends about how nice it is to visit DeRidder. 

     I want the DeRidder area to be known as a good place with plenty of opportunity for all.

     The DeRidder area can spur development outside of our current developed areas that will attract new opportunities to allow our future generations to maintain downtown and reduce traffic to create a quieter old town experience with modern retail opportunities.  We won't need to go to Lake Charles to spend our money.

 

     Visions such as this will require "Long Term Planning" and "Land Use Planning" to prevent issues such as a new Cemetery where it could have been a Shopping Mall or a Prison being where Parks and Recreation should have been.

     I envision a DeRidder that lets the neighborhood decide street improvements, and neighborhood recreation planning.

​

     I see our future that the youth never want to leave instead of as today that so many say that they can't wait to leave.  I want the youth of today to see that we are all vigorously creating opportunity for their future not only trying to prevent change.

​

     All of the above will never happen unless we put a plan in motion and continually put that puzzle together.     And that my friend is a future we can all be proud of.
