PROJECT: Courthouse Renovation 2016-2017
2017 Completion of the Beauregard Parish Courthouse Restoration - I serve on the Buildings and Grounds Committee of the Beauregard Parish Police Jury which was in the "Structural Phase" of the restoration and as a member, I routinely surveyed the progress of the project, monitored the funding to expense ratio to verify that we didn't out spend the revenue for the project, ensure that the project adhered to the schedule, and gave the people of Beauregard Parish what we were promised.
PROJECT: Recreation Districts 2007
Founding official for the creation of Recreation Districts at Ragley and Dry Creek. The Ragley site east of the Ragley overpass was created, funding sources from State and local millage has constructed this site and in 2017, I supported the purchase of an additional 30 acres to develop. In 2017, Youth Fishing Day was held at Purple Heart Park(across the highway).
PROJECT: Health Unit Renovation 2004-2007
Active in the oversight of Beauregard Health Unit renovations. This project was active during most of my 1st term as a Parish Official and several issues arose during this project that provided a "Learning Experience" that I incorporated in more recent projects.
PROJECT: New Parish Government Complex 2006-2008
This project was not one that I initially agreed with and I agreed to the project for the "Public Good". Some of the lessons learned on the Health Unit project", I carried to this project to work closely with the Architect and Contractors to eliminate several mistakes. Also working with my fellow Officials to make a project that will provide 50+years of service while adhering to the funding and cost controls.
PROJECT: Mobile Classroom for Business 2010
In 2007, LSU offered free classes for business interested persons to have classes through the E.J. Ourso School of Business via a Mobile Classroom. I worked with them while the Mobile Classroom was being constructed to have it come to DeRidder. We didn't get it 1st but it came in 2010 and offered 2 classes.
